Sulfuric acid immobilized on silica: A versatile and reusable heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of phenanthrimidazole derivatives
Authors
Abstract:
A new, convenient, efficient, and cost-effective one-pot synthesis of 1Hphenanthro[9,10]imidazol-2-yl from phenanthraquinone and aldehydes, using sulfuric acidimmobilized on silica as catalyst is described. The present methodology offers severaladvantages such as excellent yields, simple procedure, shorter reaction times, the use ofinexpensive reagents, easy recovery and eco-friendly. In addition to these, 2-alkylphenanthrimidazole is obtained from triethyl orthoesters in good yields.

full textSilica sulfuric acid as an efficient and reusable heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of formamidines from the diaminomaleonitrile
Silica sulfuric acid as an efficient and reusable heterogeneous catalyst has been used for the preparation of amidines 2 from formimidate 1 by reaction with aromatic amines at room temperature in good to excellent yields. Imidate was prepared by treatment of equimolar quantities of triethyl orthoformate and diaminomaleonitrile in refluxing dioxane. All the compounds were characterized fully by ...

full textFe3O4@silica sulfuric acid nanoparticles as a potent and recyclable solid acid catalyst for the synthesis of indole derivatives
Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized by co-precipitation of Fe2+ and Fe3+ in aqueous NaOH. Then silica was coated on the obtained nanoparticles and the whole composite was functionalized with chlorosulfonic acid in CH2Cl2. The obtained nanocomposite (Fe3O4@SiO2-SO3H) was characterized by FT-IR, VSM and XRD techniques and was used as an efficient catalyst in condensation reaction of ind...
